GNLC is a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit Charity
GNLC seeks to serve the under-resourced in our community. We utilize a sliding fee schedule based on family income and number of people in the household using the Federal Poverty Guidelines. This guideline can offer heavily discounted rates for our clients. For clients below the Federal Poverty line, GNLC will offer a nominal charge.
Why are we different?
We are a Ministry
As a ministry, we urge the staff, Board members, and volunteers to undertake their duties and otherwise conduct themselves as Paul set forth in Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (emphasis added).

Who we are
- Value-Driven: Christian principles as established by the Bible
- Compassionate: We meet clients in their place of need by offering deeply discounted legal services
- Integrative: We care for the whole of our clients by providing legal, emotional, social, and spiritual support
GOOD NEWS LEGAL CLINIC
Our History
GNLC was founded in 2015, by Stephen Trost, a practicing attorney at the time, and operated until 2019. Stephen retired shortly after closing the clinic but maintained the business and non-profit status. In 2025, Stephen restarted the clinic and now volunteers his time as a paralegal. Then, as now, the Board, Leadership team, volunteers, and staff are dedicated to providing legal aid to individuals who are not able to access attorneys. Our team consists of attorneys, paralegals, and volunteers who are passionate about helping others and promoting justice.
